Wow, a whole month and then some, gone by. I think that's a new record. Guess you could say I've been distracted. You know, by the HUMAN BEING growing inside of me. Gah. These days, I'm spending all my free time researching baby products and daydreaming of my registry. All in good time, I know. But, we're almost to the halfway point, so it really is time to get my rear in gear and get some planning done.
In fact, in just 2 more weeks, we will have the "big" ultrasound to see what Monkey is going to be. The wait, she is killing me.
Random side story- Several years ago, I worked at a daycare and was working with the schoolagers. However, I would sub in the younger classes while the older kids were at school. One day, a four year old boy from Bulgaria came to me and said, "Ms. Kim, I have a tummy ache. I think I have a baby in there." I wonder if his mom was peeing on sticks the night before.
In the spirit of updatey-ness, Christmas went very well this year. No fights broke out and everyone got good stuff. Even the baby-to-be got a few gifts, all of which, really touched my heart. New Years was a little less festive. Hmm, maybe because hubby and I fell asleep on the couch until, oh, about 11:58. We kissed as the clock struck twelve and then went straight back to sleep. Does that bode well for 2007? Meh, what fun is NY if you can't drink anyway?
Andy is getting more and more into this whole baby having thing. And talk about overprotective, the man won't even let me pump gas or carry anything heavier than my purse. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I love that man more than even possible and with each day, he gives me another reason to love him more. Just to brag, he came home yesterday, took one look at me and said, "You weren't this beautiful before, were you?" On Christmas Eve, while I was wrapping gifts (procrastinate much?), he was sprinkling mini Snicker bars under the tree and then brought me into the room and said, "Santa came for you!" See what I mean? Adorable.
My mom, sister and her 3 kids all moved just before Christmas. I will admit that I'm having a hard time with this change. I'm so used to them being within a few minutes drive and now, they are over 2 hours away. Which, yeah, "Whiny girl, it's only 2 hours. Big Deal. Get over yourself, lazy ass." In my defense, I am really close with my mom and those three kids were my world(with the exception of hubby, of course). Plus, my totally selfish side is upset that she won't be here for my whole pregnancy. I've waited a long time to do this, and dammit her life should revolve around me. Alas, it doesn't and she has to do her own thing. She likes it where she is now, the pace of life is much slower and quieter there. At least it shouldn't be a problem for her to get here in time for the birth. Hopefully.
"ALRIGHT. Enough about you and blah, blah, blah. SHUT UP, whiny"
